History

The company was founded in 2007 as Aero Surveys Ghana Limited and later rebranded as Air Shuttle. It operated 2 Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante aircraft for domestic air taxi services.[3] In 2011 the ownership of the airline changed, which resulted in a further rebranding to Starbow Airlines. An advertising and recruitment campaign was launched [4] and a pair of 22-year old BAe 146-300s was acquired[5], which should allow for scheduled passenger services.

Starbow Airlines failed to commence scheduled operations on 29 August 2011 as it originally had been announced.[6] The airline eventually commenced operations on 26 September 2011.[7]
